  Vehicle Components information:

The main components of an automobile are-

• Frame
• Chassis
• Body
• Power unit
• Transmission system

An automobile is made up of mainly two units, these are Chassis and Body.

Frame     +  Base components   =   Chassis

Chassis   +       Body                  =    Vehicle

Frame:

The frame is the skeleton of the vehicle. It serves as a main foundation and base for alignment for the chassis.

Types:

1. Conventional frame

2. Semi integral frame

3. Integral or untidiest frame.

   

   1. Conventional Frame: Conventional Frame is also known as non load carrying frame. In this type of frame the loads of the vehicle are transferred to the suspension by the frame, which is the main skeleton of the vehicle. the frame supports the engine, power train and car body.is is generally made from steel section.

it's most advantages is to carry a Higher load and strength.

and it's Disadvantage is the body tends to  vibrate easily and the overall vehicle handling and refinement is lower.

it is used in truck, bus, and in SUV cars and bigger vehicle.

 2. Semi Integral Frame:  In some vehicle half frame is fixed in the front end on which engine gearbox and front suspension is mounted.

    

  It has the advantage when vehicle is met with accident and front frame can be taken easily to replace the damaged chassis frame.

  

This type of  frame is used in some of the European and American cars.

3.Integral Frame: This frame is used now a days in most of the cars. There is no Frame and all the assembly units are attached to the body.

All the functions of the frame carried out by the body itself.

 

The Disadvantage is Repairing.
